Friends of the Library

The Friends of the Vestavia Hills Library is a non-profit group of citizens who believe that a good library is essential to the cultural, educational and economic well-being of Vestavia Hills. The Friends work to assist the Board of Trustees and the Library Director; to promote increased knowledge of the functions, resources, services and needs of the library; to stimulate volunteer service; to encourage gifts and memorials for the library; to help the library procure funds for items that are not included in the regular budget and to sponsor cultural and related programs for the community.

What We Do

Below are the main activities the Friends participate in throughout the year.

Feel free to Like us on our new Facebook page to stay up-to-date on all posts.

Japanese Books

The Friends of the Vestavia Hills Library BOOKSTORE, located on the main floor, offers a large selection of previously owned fiction, non-fiction (cooking, travel, religion, etc.), children’s books, CDs and DVDs, and paperbacks. Come in and browse or make a donation! All donations and proceeds from sales benefit the library.

Meetings & Events

All are invited to enjoy fellowship and programs in the Community Room of the Library in the Forest. Unless otherwise noted, doors open at 10am for fellowship and pending business and the program begins at 10:30am.

Loving Couple

The Friends need your support. Join and help the Library in the Forest be the best it can be! We are not charging dues at this time. We will charge for some events as fundraisers. For volunteer information or  opportunities, contact Leigh at 205-602-3883 with bookstore questions and Elise at friends@vestavialibrary.org for all other inquiries.
